The Travel Guides are going for gold on an Olympics French holiday!

And while they may be taking in the stunning Olympic sights, there is one particular tour that left them completely gobsmacked.

For beneath Paris’ most famous landmarks, is the less famous Paris Sewers Museum – and perhaps the most unusual tour on their European getaway.

See for yourself in the video above… if the smell won’t bother you.

“It’s an actual working sewer,” amused Brett. “And they are very proud of it.”

Yep, you too can witness the real waste water coming from the toilets above!

Since 1975, the Paris Sewer Museum has welcomed curious tourists into the bowels of the underground. And the city should be proud, considering it’s an incredible 2,500km system under the streets of Paris.

From $15 per person, travellers can explore the incredible feats of engineering that cater to two million Parisian locals. But we must warn you, there may be a slight smell…

“Oh my god…” said Karly taking in the underground tunnels.

“I have never smelt anything like that in my life,” Bri added. “Nor do I ever want to smell anything like that again.” 

Kevin and Janetta however, found it quite fascinating! 

“So we’re going down into the sewer system?” Kevin made clear. “Fantastic. That’s great!”

Surprisingly, it’s not the first “magnificent” sewer tour they’ve been on. But then again, it’s Kevin and we’re not actually that surprised.

While the stench in your nostrils will eventually fade, you can always remember your visit with a souvenir!

“This is not the kind of shopping I wanted to do in Paris,” Victoria laughed.

But that’s not the only fun the Guides had in France. They climbed the stairs to “Heaven” on earth and took a stab at the county’s most successful Olympic sport.
